Proof we did it! The Sharpe Recruitment ladies slept rough in aid of action for children for bytenight! http://ping.fm/YBdUY
It was so emotional to think of the kids that do it for real night after night I felt guilty in my super sprung padded bed with warming duck duvet on sat night.
I hope my freezing head and aches and pains will help someone get of the streets.

Female entrepreneurs from across the North East have just two weeks left to enter a regional business competition for women.
Women are being urged to submit their online entries for The North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2009.
The Awards, now in their 10th year and sponsored by Business Link, include two new categories to reward pre-startup and inspirational entrepreneurs, an online application process and new compere, ITV’s Wendy Gibson.
The Awards will reward the best individuals, partnerships and business support organisations across eight categories.
Women can nominate individuals for the recognition categories or enter the other awards online at www.womenintothenetwork.co.uk.
Chair of the judging panel, previous North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year and SCM Pharma director Fiona Cruickshank said: “As a previous winner, I can’t encourage women strongly enough to enter these Awards. Winning an award, or even just being nominated, can enhance your business in many ways — be it by bolstering sales, boosting employee morale or increasing web traffic.
"For new and smaller businesses, winning one really can provide a springboard to growth, add real credibility to what they are doing, and provide fantastic marketing opportunities.
“As we enter the tenth year of the Awards, we continue to be astounded by the amount of talent here in the North East – and it’s our job to ensure this talent does not go unnoticed.”
The closing date for entries is close of business on Friday 11 September. Enter online and find out more at www.womenintothenetwork.co.uk.

Hi all,

I thought you might be interested in this event:

Teesside University
would like to invite you to our Business Showcase Breakfast event on Thursday 18th June.

The showcase, through interactive presentations, exhibition stands and campus tours will introduce you to numerous areas of expertise. These will include:

• Leadership & Management through Drama
• Video Journalism
• Workforce Development
• Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
• Sound Studio

A team of experts will be on hand to describe how we can assist both creative and non-creative businesses to succeed, from injecting new energy and creativity into business practices through to bespoke staff training solutions and development of innovative new products or services.

A taste of some of the innovative work Teesside has been doing with businesses will be provided with an overview of the ground-breaking video journalism training offered not only to the Evening Gazette and Newsquest North East but also to a host of the region's PR and ad agencies.

Attendees will also find out more on how we have used the government-funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme to develop innovative products with point of sale specialists the Simpson Group, and the exciting ways in which performance and theatrical methodologies can be applied in the arena of Leadership & Management skills development.

Past breakfast events have proved very popular with local business leaders making the most of the opportunity to discuss their individual needs with the University and to network with other like-minded companies.
